How do our measurements hold up against the real world?

We compared iPhone LiDAR floor plans from the Noughty Reality SDK with tape measurements. Every scan was within 5%, most within 2%.

Floor plan captured with iPhone LiDAR next to tape measure results.

Over the last couple of months, while talking to customers, one question kept popping up: How do our measurements hold up against the real world?

So we grabbed the measuring tape and got to work. We picked several properties, performed a couple of scans with our Noughty Reality SDK, and spent hours doing manual measurements.

And what we found was awesome! All scans were within a 5% margin, and most of them were within 2%.

There's a lot of legislation requiring at most 5% measurement error. In Norway, it's even stricter: if a home's floor area comes in more than 2% below what was advertised, it's a legal defect in the sale

Happy to see that Noughty Reality clears most of it already

Our 1.0 release is planned for the end of October, but if you want to check out some of our stuff, you can check it on Our Website.
